Forestry and Land Scotland is looking for an Open Habitat Peatlands Officer to help accelerate peatland restoration on Scotland's national land. This is an exciting and varied role supporting an emerging programme of partnerships for climate and biodiversity at FLS.
This fixed-term national post will scope out and prioritise degraded unafforested peatland habitats across Scotland and help get them ‘restoration ready’ through the IUCN Peatland Code.
You will be working alongside a wide range of experts both within and outside FLS, sharing your passion for habitat restoration, and putting your organizational skills into practice to help manage a pipeline of peatland projects. Your work will help us bring these bogs back to their best condition - providing healthy environments for rare flora and fauna, locking up carbon, supporting clean water and reducing flood risk.
Location is flexible – you will be working from home or one of FLS’ many offices, with travel to peatland sites across Scotland.
