If you’re looking for a career or a change of career that will provide a mix of home/office working and working outdoors in the countryside then the assistant woodland officer role with Scottish Forestry could be the ideal solution. At Scottish Forestry, we are at the heart of the drive by the Scottish Government to increase woodland cover to help tackle climate change and combat nature loss.
We are looking for enthusiastic, practical and self-motivated people to join the Scottish forestry team as Assistant woodland officers. We currently have 5 vacancies across Scotland but further opportunities may arise and so we are also looking for potential reserve candidates.
We have developed a comprehensive training programme for new recruits to provide them with the skills needed to perform their role. As an assistant woodland officer, you’ll support the woodland officer to carry out grants and regulation work, provide guidance to woodland owners and managers and promote sustainable forest management. Your time will be split between field visits and office work to assess and process applications.
