If you’re looking for a career that will provide a mix of home/office working and working in the countryside, the woodland officer role with Scottish Forestry could be the ideal solution. At Scottish Forestry, we are at the heart of the drive by the Scottish Government to increase woodland cover to help tackle climate change and combat nature loss.
We are looking for enthusiastic, practical and self-motivated people to join the Scottish forestry team as Woodland Officers. We currently have 3 vacancies across Scotland but further opportunities may arise and so we are also looking for potential reserve candidates.
We have developed a comprehensive training programme for new recruits to provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their role. As a woodland officer, your key role will be to carry out grants and regulation work, provide guidance to woodland officers and managers and promote sustainable forest management. As a woodland officer your time will be split between field visits and office work to assess and process applications for compliance against UKFS and grant conditions.
