Professional Support to the Chief Forester

The Scottish Government’s net zero goals are driving a more sustainable future. Forestry plays a crucial role in meeting carbon reductions targets, tackling the nature emergency, delivering sustainable timber supply chains for Scotland and supporting its communities.
In your role as Professional Support you’ll be working closely with senior stakeholders across the public and private sectors to support the objectives of the Chief Forester. You’ll provide professional advice on forestry related matters, promote professional standards, and be an advocate for forestry within the sector and government.
This role will give you the opportunity to shape key issues facing the forestry sector and develop your interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills as you foster strong working relationships with varied stakeholders.
We’re looking for a candidate from any relevant background with an interest in forestry. If you’re confident working independently, articulate in your communication, and driven to achieve objectives, then this is the role for you.
